Flying a remote controlled helicopter can be very exciting and at the same time very challenging if your a beginner. A RC helicopter toy can be intimidating to beginners because of their versatility, compared with other vehicles a helicopter can move in any direction and perform 360 degree turns. Performing maneuvers that other vehicles can not accomplish and the freedom to move through the sky without any obstacles is one of the reasons why these RC helicopters are becoming so popular.Okay so flying a RC Helicopter can take some time to master but you don't have to be intimidated to fly one as there are many types of units for beginners and simulators for you to learn from. But the best way to learn is to take flight. For a beginner I would recommend a Dual-rotor (coaxial rotor) helicopter, Coaxial rotors provide a smother flight stability, these type of RC helicopters don't usually have a tail rotor. Because each coaxial rotor spins in opposite directions the pilot can turn by applying more force to either rotor making it easier to learn to fly. But if you prefer more of a challenge I would try flying a RC helicopter with a single rotor which consists of the main rotor and tail rotor. These types of remote controlled helicopters are more difficult to fly because you must learn to control both rotors. These rotors work together to provide stability and maneuverability to the RC helicopter, learning to apply the correct force to the main rotor and tail rotor are essential for flying, of course there are other factors that contribute to the stability of your unit such as balancing the blades. I wouldn't recommend piloting one unless you have flight experience as you could damage the helicopter and can cost you time and money on repairs. A RC helicopter simulator is a great way to practice flying without the fear of costly repairs. A simulator can be bought with or without the helicopter toy and usually has the same transmitter in bedded in the control panel used for flight in the real world.Flying a RC helicopter toy is a great experience and shouldn't be a hassle, learning more about this hobby is rewarding. So don't get intimidated as one of the best ways to learn is to just take flight and experience it for yourself. When flying a helicopter for the first time it's a great idea to start flying lightly and not apply to much force to the control panel to find out how much throttle is needed to hover. After you have mastered your hovering skill you should consider practicing short distance landings, without the proper landings you can damage your RC helicopter. Practicing on simulator is the best way to practice without having to worry about damaging your RC helicopter. Learning to fly your remote controlled helicopter takes time and patience so take it easy and stick with the basics and you'll be a master pilot in no time.About the Author
